Genetics - Sex-Linked Problems
1) Red-green color blindness is caused by a sex-linked recessive gene. A color blind male and a normal visioned female have a color blind child. What are the genotypes of all three?(two possible answers for the child) Use a Punnett Square to determine what other kids could these parents have.
2) Hemophilia is caused by a sex-linked recessive gene.
a) Use a Punnett Square to show a cross between a hybrid female (carrier) and a normal male. What offspring could be expected?
b) Can a normal male have a daughter with hemophilia? Show how or why not.
c) Can a normal male have a son with hemophilia? Show how or why not.
